Speaking of 1911's, what's the general concensus on those chambered for 9mm (the compacts and ultra compacts)? I know that with few exceptions, the short-barreled 1911's may have trouble---or have the reputation for having trouble--with .45 ACP (cycling) but I don't know if people have found the same bug in 9mm 1911's. I would expect not, because of differences of scale and pressure, etc. but don't know if there might be something else involved.
When I say "trouble" I mean that short-barreled .45's pistols (ultra compacts) may not be as reliable as their longer-snouted brethren. Not that they are a constant PITA. 4.) bluecat - 01/23/2014
Old gunmakers don't go up in smoke, they just reload.
