Ever since the Hunger Games movie came out my oldest granddaughter who will be 12 in Jan wanted to learn archery.
I got out her grandmother's old Darton SL 30 and took it to the pro shop and got it set up for her. New string and a whisker bisquit rest. Had the arrows re fletched with Blazer 2" vanes. She's shooting fingers and refuses to go to a release ( for now). No sights, no kisser and no peep. She's doing pretty good but needs work on her form. She has taught herself how to aim using the whisker bisquit to aim with. She doesn't know it but she's getting a new Mathews Mission Menace with hard case, tru glow rite sight 3 pin sight, tube peep sight, soft kisser button and finger savers for her birthday in Jan. I think she'll like it. I hear it's a great bow for kids. Maybe I'll get myself a new Riot later on. 2.) bluecat - 12/26/2013
I think that movie has inspired a lot of young kids as well as having adults take a second look at archery.
My daughter is 12 and has her own handmade recurve. She really enjoys it and I couldn't be happier. 3.) Hunter - 12/26/2013
