Looks like Sunday will be the best day of the weekend for the family picnic. That 3 will feel balmy.
3.) Ventilator - 12/05/2013
crap....its 68 here right now with 73 for a high tomorrow. Weather man sure doesnt have deer hunting in mind for the south!
4.) DParker - 12/05/2013
It's fixin' to get NAAASTY here (by TX standards). National Weather Service is now calling for all roads in and around the D/FW Metroplex to be covered with > ½" of ice, with more freezing rain and a high of 28°F for the next two days. Love the cold...but with that ice, there goes yet another weekend of hunting down the drain. (Yesterday's high was 80°F.)
"Oh, well, now I'm off to get my life-sustaining supplies: cornmeal and gun powder and hamhocks and guitar strings." ~ Yukon Cornelius 5.) DParker - 12/06/2013
I stopped by the grocery store on the way home...and you'd think everyone was prepping for the zombie apocalypse. What was really funny was the number of people loading mostly cases of beer and wine into their trunks. They might freeze/starve to death, but they'll be damned if they're gonna' do it sober.
6.) Triton Rich - 12/06/2013
I guess that explains why your mustache is frozen in your avatar Wild Bob!
7.) bluecat - 12/06/2013
When I woke up this morning there was a little frost on the pumpkin.
8.) Swamp Fox - 12/06/2013
You must've either snored or farted all night...She'll get over it.
:wink Gonna get up around 81 here today, then rain for the next 3 or four days....I give up! 9.) Swamp Fox - 12/06/2013
Forgot to mention the gusty wind...:bang:
10.) DParker - 12/06/2013
One of my neighbor's 18 year-old trees that completely collapsed under the weight of the ice coating that accumulated just overnight:
I lost a couple of smaller branches on my oak out front, but nothing too devastating...yet. Dino is going to be up to his eyeballs in work in 3 days. 11.) Swamp Fox - 12/06/2013
Let us know when the power goes out...
12.) DParker - 12/06/2013
Let us know when the power goes out...
Just over 250,000 homes in the area have been without power all day. We've been fortunate, so far. 13.) Ventilator - 12/06/2013

try that when its 20 below a couple days..you Texans are weinies.. 15.) Wild Bob - 12/08/2013
Been out half the day doing this and that, spent a couple hours putting up the last of the outdoor Christmas lights...(me and the guy down the road must be the two biggest knuckle heads in the area - wait until the coldest days of the year so far to finish off the outdoor chores :re: )
Had to go to the indoor hockey rink and watch my son and his friend beat the Bozeman team :tu: just to warm up. I heard that Fox news had us yesterday and today as the coldest place in the country. We'll get put on the map somehow! 16.) NEBigAl - 12/08/2013
