It's on tonight but the time of start is still sketchy. It all depends on Peyton's audible. I suggest viewing on the snap count. Hurry hurry!

33.) Floyd - 09/25/2013
Swampy, CE, let's apply for a govment grant to find out why the Mannings bring out the worst and the best out of people.
I all ready have the finale, "non-conclusive" paragraph done. Crookedeye can take care of the mumbo jumbo meddle paragraphs, and Swampy can write the opening paragraph. We use this thread as a source document. DP can do the "foreward". Bluecat can do the graphics. mmm, anyone else? 34.) bluecat - 09/25/2013
In all honesty, I've never given the Mannings much thought...until last year when Peyton got snubbed by his former team because of his neck injury. I always root for the underdog and he has given me a reason to stand up and root for him. I've always hated the Denver Broncos. Really, with a passion. Now I'm actually rooting for them because I want to see Peyton take that team all the way.
Like him or hate him, you have to admire his football mind. Every play is just crazy with all his audibles and such. When they acquired Wes Welker I knew that the "one-two" punch had been set in place. How New England let him go, I'll never know. Here's to Peyton going all the way and proving to the Colts they should have stuck with a known quantity. 35.) Floyd - 09/25/2013
Tebow a New England victim too?
36.) Jon - 09/26/2013
Yup, Tebow got cut from the Pats
37.) Floyd - 09/26/2013
Why?
38.) bluecat - 09/26/2013
Tebow is a fine human being. I'd date him if I could. NFL quarterback, no.
39.) Floyd - 09/26/2013
.....based on? How does Tebow's four years compare?
40.) bluecat - 09/26/2013
He is not fleet of foot. Can't make accurate passes. Can't make reads. His college game never translated to the pros. Any team would love to have players that worked as hard as that man.

Kurt Warner to Tebow: Play Somewhere
http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2013-09-07/tim-tebow-quarterback-cfl-another-position-nfl-kurt-warner-advice Has anyone said they'd want him at QB "...But he just doesn't fit our system" or is he SOL at QB completely in the NFL at this point? I'm still a little surprised at the way he got drafted and positioned/trained when he entered the league in the first place. These doubts about him have always been out there as far as I could ever tell. 42.) bluecat - 09/26/2013
I'm not a football mind so I definately don't want to come off as a know-it-all. I was surprised that he hasn't done better in the NFL. I mean he was the Heisman Trophy winner right? But if you watch him play, he just kind looks like a big lug out there. Plenty of heart, just nothing much else. Florida's offense was able to hide some of what was lacking in the NFL.

I wish I knew half as much about football as an old girlfriend of mine knew about baseball...And I played football most of my yute...But I remember getting this huge playbook in a three-ring binder in the mail over the summer...it was probably fourth grade, maybe fifth (I think JV was either Grades 4-6 or 5-6) and then you went on to Varsity...
I was like...Wait, what is this? x's and o's and arrows all over? Huh?...and I'm supposed to know what's the difference between a flanker and Whaaaa?...Did I really just sign up for this? It's the SUMMER, man! LOL....But a true story...That book had me freaked out! 45.) bluecat - 09/26/2013
Can you imagine learning a whole playbook for a team and then being traded to another team?
46.) bluecat - 09/26/2013
Swampy most guys would give their left...um...thingy to have a girlfriend that knows about sports. Did you at least get to second base? I love second base.
47.) Swamp Fox - 09/26/2013
Can you imagine being a coach who's just had a player traded who knows all his plays?
D'oh! There's not a rule that says you can't rat out your old playbook to your new team, is there? Maybe all you do is change your signals or tweak your formation slightly...But man, that's gotta be a mess! On the other hand, pay me what these guys make to play or coach and I believe I could meet the mental challenge... 48.) Swamp Fox - 09/26/2013

I was just going to say, ''Because in spite of being a decent guy, as a QB he sucks by NFL standards." But I guess your phrasing is a bit kinder and less vague.
Well, then you've come to the right place... :ach:
50.) Swamp Fox - 09/26/2013
Stephen! ... My man!
 51.) DParker - 09/26/2013
Just to show off my mad Excel skillz (chicks dig that in a fat, grey-haired old man) I took a quick look at the QB passing stats at nfl.com from 2011, the last year that Tebow got any significant play time in. I captured the passing stats for Total Attempts, Total Completions, Total Passing Yards & Total Interceptions and used them to compute Completion %, Yards / Attempt, Yards / Completion & Interception % (of total attempts). I then divided that stats into two tables, one containing stats for ALL QBs that had stats (73 in all), and one for just each team's starting QB (32 teams). I then used that to rank Tebow on the computed stats relative to all QBs and relative to just starting QBs. The lower the rank #, the better. Here are the results:
Against All QBs (Ranking out of 73)

\tStat \tAvg. Value \tTebow's Value \tTebow's Rank

\tCompletion % \t60.69% \t46.49 \t32

\tYards / Attempt \t7.38 \t6.38 \t27

\tYards / Completion \t12.16 \t13.72 \t5

\tInterception % \t2.36% \t2.21% \t10

So he fared pretty well on Yards / Completion and Interception %, but his extremely poor Completion % - even when compared with the entire pool of active QBs and not just starters (where he ranked dead last) - was a killer. 52.) DParker - 09/26/2013
Aw, hell! OK, In the "Against All QBs" table the figure for the "Completion %" stat under "Tebow's Value" should be 46.49%. And the correct number in the other table is missing the "%". My proofreading sucks as badly as his passing accuracy.

Your statement is true and I agree. Missed the point though. Even easygoing CE is harder on the pro teams than college teams. (AGAIN generally speaking (meaning your free to point out the obvious exceptions) (Teams/players) I specially love the people that equate an heismen trophy winner to a veteran football player (in all cases) and expect them to play the same on day one of the hiesman professional career. I did and still do. I love listening in to sports call in shows. I think hockey guys are much meaner and nastier on those shows than football guys. Specially the northeast and Chicago area. Those guys can talk the stuff and very very unforgiving. I like it. I don't even know why we are even still talking about the loser. Oh, I remember. :tu: 62.) Swamp Fox - 09/27/2013

I remember now...It's the European one that migrates... The expectations for players are different when they're making big bucks and out of school. It's only natural.
