1.) Swamp Fox - 09/03/2013
New Mississippi record gator: Not huge, but respectable...:wink...South Carolina record is 13'2" and 1060 lbs., I believe....Heaviest gator ever recorded, according to the SC DNR, was a Fla. monster at 1043, so either the 1060 from SC got revised downwards after initial reports (it was caught just down the road from Camp Swampy in 2009) or the DNR needs to revise their website.
http://www.dnr.sc.gov/marine/mrri/acechar/specgal/gator.htm The longest U.S. gator ever recorded spoke with a Cajun accent and was just a tad over 19 ft., but I don't know the weight. Here's the big lizard from Ole Miss: http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/727-pound-alligator-smashes-state-records-220001381--abc-news-topstories.html?vp=1 And a couple of other items for your viewing pleasure: 2.)
