Does everyone know what this refers to? That's right. The decades-old importation of WWII-era collectible infantry rifles (M1 Garands and Carbines) from South Korea, where they've been sitting in warehouses since shortly after the Armistice because they're of no military value. You know...old, mostly worn-out, big, heavy and expensive antiques that never see "the streets" because they're snapped up by collectors as soon as they're made available by a tiny number of importers, and are absolutely NOT sought after by criminals....because they're old, mostly worn-out, big, heavy and expensive antiques. This probably explains why they're essentially never used to commit crimes.

I feel safer now because I'll probably never be able to get a Garand at anything even remotely resembling a justifiable price. But at least we won't have to worry about gangs of roving WWII enthusiasts knocking of liquor stores.
