We woke up this morning to a huge server crash and outage due to a corrupted file reporting itself as 750 gigs! It was the backup file for bowfishing country that was used to transfer the site to the new owners this week.

Now the file was obviously not that big but it caused the server to believe it had no memory left and that in turn corrupted the SQL databases when they went into their morning backup routine.

Sigh.

So that led to most of the day reinstalling SQL, Server OS's (due to the SQL upgrade) and then trying to recover corrupted tables.

We did manage to get everything back but there were a few threads that had been posted today that were after the data snapshot and thus appeared to be deleted when we came back online.
Nothing was intentionally deleted.

With the offending file gone now, we are expecting any further issues.
But hey, it's a server. It's like it knows when I am most tired or overworked and then goes on a tantrum like a jilted woman.

Occasionally when that stuff happens Alex, I'll hit the top of the cpu really really hard. Just a sharp blow near the spinning hard drive. That sometimes corrects the problem. Glad to help.
