So I used to have a couple of Martin Bows. I sold one of them and the cam got jacked up on the other one and Martin doesn't have the parts to replace it.

I have my eye on a couple of bows and I think it's a no brainer but I wanted to see what the good folks of Hunting Country think. Should be fun on a Monday anyway.

So I have a couple of options at the moment. I have about $280 that I have made from selling stuff on Craigslist. This is the top end of my budget unfortunately. Wife has a Master's degree and can't find a teaching position, times are hard blah blah you know how it goes. :co: I might be able to save some more cash but we really have other things that it needs to go to so I should stop here if at all possible. I think I can come out in pretty good shape though.


First Option:

Includes arrows and a hard case. I have no idea as to the quality of the arrows but my father in law runs a flea market (yes I know I am a hillbilly) and he knows the guy and is an antique dealer so he may even swap something and get the cost even lower.

I think it's a no brainer that the Brute would be better if it weren't for the possibility of getting the Outback at a really good price.


Both bows are about 2.5 hours away from me in different directions.
So, I thought it would be kind of fun to hear what you folks think about how these bows stack up.

A lot of guys liked Brute in the 80's....It guess it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Maybe somebody knows something special about the [B]P[/B]ull-[B]S[/B]hoot-[B]E[/B]xplode, but my first inclination would be to point the truck toward the Outback.

If I had to pick between the 2 you mentioned, it would be the Outback. I didn't like the grip on the Outback but it was a good shooting bow.

But.......I would rather have the Guardian.:wink

Ok, sorry to disapear but I had to go out of town for a couple of days. I did see this and did pick up a bow. I did something like what you said anyway, I got the Bass Pro version of the '08 Black Ice.

Picked it up with 6 arrows and all these bells and whistles for $200.

[B]That should work for ya! When you get to shooting, watch out for noise from that octane stabilizer. I read a few complaints about that and mine made a good deal of noise before I fixed it.[/B]
