My son and I took a little road trip scouting some new (for us) public land areas. We were on our was back from the LBJ National Grasslands and just west of Denton when we spied these guys in someone's yard on the side of the highway...
Scimitar-Horned Oryx. There are more of them in these people's yard than in the wild in their native home of Northern Africa, where they're now listed as extinct. 2.) Deerminator - 07/22/2013
Cute looking critters. Wonder how they grill up.

I'll let you know...assuming we have our names drawn for the state-run Oryx hunt this year (about a 1 in 1,200 shot). 4.) billy b - 07/22/2013
Doesn't everybody have a few of those:cf:

Looks like a target-rich environment

Apparently they taste pretty good according to Ted Nugent.
I had to take care of those guys at the San Antonio Zoo back in the day. They get on their knees and try to hook you with those horns. It was always a little scary going into their pen. 7.) Swamp Fox - 07/22/2013
I've heard the Oryx were pretty good but I just need something for inside the house and sometimes the truck---not much in the yard-- so I just got a little handheld Shark and saved a bunch of money by switching to 18v Lithium Ions...

Are the batteries for the frikkin' laser beams on the sharks' heads? 9.) Swamp Fox - 07/22/2013
Absolutely. I figure every creature deserves a warm meal.
