My wife Ellen and I got up super early this morning and were on the road by 5:30 a.m.
We drove up the South Skagit Highway hoping to see some Elk and Eagles. Needless to say, we didn't see any! :( So, we continued our drive WAY up past Baker Lake to the National Forests. We traveled 12 miles past the end of the pavement, up a very narrow Dirt Road, almost to the Canadian Border, then ate lunch and turned around and went back to Baker Lake. We saw some absolutely Beautiful Scenery and finally got to see a Blacktail Doe and 2 Fawns, but we weren't able to get her photos. :( All together we put 138 miles on the car, but it was Well Worth it for the scenery and photos we got! :) Ellen took Only 96 photos and I took Far More! :) Here is one photo that Ellen took that shows the absolutely Beautiful things we saw.
