3.) crookedeye - 06/22/2013
that thing is pretty light.havnt even shot it yet..i need to get all the right lubes and oils for the rail, i'm surprised it came in a box that i had to install which was about 3 screws worth.. very easy..first shot i might have to put on my safty glasses..

heres my early season hunting setup. the dumbbells in back are just for show, just in case . 5.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
just make myself comfortable on a fields edge...next thing i no... i'll be making sausage for everyone..
6.) bluecat - 06/27/2013
Leave the price tag on the crossbow ala Minnie Pearl.
7.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
had it for two weeks and havnt shot it yet..bought some arrows and some rail lube at cabelas today all the tags are coming off maybe this weekend..
question.. the scope where you adjust windage has a tiny freakin phillips screw where you adjust youre right , left , up or down.. i do need to loosen that and tighten it back up, right? i havnt messed with it yet because i cant find a small enough phillips screw driver.. 8.) Swamp Fox - 06/27/2013
You have a bobby pin?
9.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
is that like set screw are somthing? seriously..
10.) Swamp Fox - 06/27/2013

LOL...
12.) bluecat - 06/27/2013
At first I thought Bobby Pins? How basic. But you know, it's good to review every now and then. You can pick up some tips here and there.
13.) Swamp Fox - 06/27/2013
"Always buy good-quality bobby pins..." is what I hear...
14.) bluecat - 06/27/2013
I remember sticking one of those things in an outlet.
15.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
i never had a scope with a set screw before..if that what it is ..i dont like to loosen tiny little screws so thats why i'm asking..
16.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
thing looks like it could be strip out very easily..
17.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
i dont think i could find a thred all to reem that thing out..
18.) Swamp Fox - 06/27/2013
I don't know anything about a set screw up where the sight adjustments are made...I could believe one on the focus knob, but like you say I haven't ever come across one anywhere on a scope that I can think of offhand, unless I'm missing something obvious, LOL....except maybe on some lighted sights maybe...I have a laser that has a screw for beam adjustment (but it's not a set screw, obviously...just like a set screw).
The tiny screwdriver in an eyeglass repair kit might work. Drug store or supermarket. 19.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
let me take a pic ..hang on..
20.) Swamp Fox - 06/27/2013
When in doubt, you could always look at the instructions.
Just a suggestion... Don't shoot the messenger. :wink 21.) DParker - 06/27/2013
Is the screw in the middle of a knob that you turn for windage adjustment? If so then you shouldn't need to loosen it or mess with it (the screw) at all. The knob should just turn when you want it to, but maintain its setting without needing to tighten anything down.
22.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
man what a dummy i am..the little screws were the things that held the the knob you turn it to click it for adjustments..:bang: like i said i'm new to scopes and such.. like i said i havnt messed with it much..do you have to shoot these things with safty glasses on ??are is it optional?
23.) Swamp Fox - 06/27/2013
Oh, good call, DP. That could be it, though I'm not sure I have any scope like that...I don't have all the schematics in my head, though, LOL.
24.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
the directions told me safty glasses...
25.) Swamp Fox - 06/27/2013
do you have to shoot these things with safty glasses on ??are is it optional?
You and me should prolly shoot them with helmets on, LOL 26.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
according to the directions there's alot that can go wrong...
27.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
check this check that..blah blah blah..
28.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
you no i'm going to cut my finger on this thing...
29.) DParker - 06/27/2013
Didn't Santa tell you, "You'll shoot your eye out, kid!"
30.) CHRIS - 06/27/2013
just remember to keep your thumb below the rail or the string will remove it. Is that a Bowtec Stryker crossbow? As DP said "don't remove the little screws".
31.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
once i get this thing set it should be pretty fun..this thing is just for those evening hunts where im lazy and what to hunt a fields edge are kill some does .my main weapon is still the compound.. will see.
32.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
just remember to keep your thumb below the rail or the string will remove it. Is that a Bowtec Stryker crossbow? As DP said "don't remove the little screws".
i figured it out chris, i always catch myself aiming it and my left thumb is close to the rail.. if that happens it might remove part of my thumb but not the whole thumb:-) i bought the 350 with the string surpressors..noing me, when a big buck walks by i''ll be nervous and not think and a part of my finger will go with the arrow..:tu: lets hope that dont happen.. 33.) Hunter - 06/27/2013
Keep a camera handy, CE. You know that pics of fingers on the ground make good thread conversations! :tu:

IT HAPPEN!! in big bold letters...lol.. 35.) crookedeye - 06/27/2013
i just have a bad feeling about this crossbow...
36.) luv2bowhunt - 06/28/2013
It's just a little tiny string. What can possibly go wrong?
Just follow your heart. That's what I always do. 37.) CHRIS - 06/28/2013
It's just a little tiny string. What can possibly go wrong?

Me?
Is Bob Peck really as smart as he thinks that we think you think he is or is it all a contrived storyline? 39.) CHRIS - 06/28/2013
:cf: not sure about the bob smart thing but I hear he reads allot of books. as you know he's afraid to come north to hunt pa deer.
40.) crookedeye - 07/13/2013
well i finally shot my crossbow, in the basement.. one thing i learned is its not a vertical bow but horizental...and once the bow is cocked you need to look out for the sides of washing machines..i put a dent in the side of the washing maching with the cam..
strong bow..not a nick in it.. shooting bullet holes..i really like this thing.. 41.) DParker - 07/13/2013
well i finally shot my crossbow, in the basement.. one thing i learned is its not a vertical bow but horizental..
I hate it when they leave important information like that out of the owner's manual. 42.) Triton Rich - 07/14/2013
Don't know if you figured it out yet but I believe those tiny screws are for zeroing the knobs. You sight the thing in then remove the knob and reinstall it so it lines up with zero. Then you can make adjustments and return back to the original setting. Prob not much use in this case since you'll prob just set it and forget it anyhow.
43.) crookedeye - 07/14/2013
Huh?
lol i dont think i'm going to mess with that..after putting that dent in my wash machine i better pay closer attention on where the limbs are going to hit ..expecially my leg. 44.) Triton Rich - 07/14/2013

My boss at work got one (forget what kind), when he went to pull it back the first time, the stirrup slipped off of his foot and the stock hit him in the face. He didn't get hurt too bad so it was ok for us to laugh at him! 45.) crookedeye - 07/14/2013
