Very similar to a measure previously passed in Montana, the state of Kansas enacts SB 102...legislation that provides, among other things, that the federal government has no authority under the Interstate Commerce Clause to regulate firearms and ammunition that have been manufactured within Kansas and that have never left the state. It also allows for the prosecution of any federal official(s) who attempt to enforce federal laws with regard to such items within the state of Kansas:

USAG Eric Holder pens a letter to Kansas Gov. Brownback declaring SB 102 to be unconstitutional, stating that the DoJ will not recognize SB 102 and threatens possible litigation over it:

Kansas' Secretary of State issues an official statement in response to Holder's letter, informing the latter that his understanding of the U.S. Constitution is flawed, and effectively telling Holder to pound sand and bring it on:
