At first I thought they were holding hands then my son pointed out insects don't have hands. Smart kid. Obviously doesn't take after his Father.
Today's random firing. 2.) DParker - 05/02/2013
Did you turn the hose on them?
Or at least pop a romantic disc in the CD player for them? 3.) Bob Peck - 05/02/2013

No of course not. Funny how we hunt the rut making sounds that emulate deer love and think nothing of sending an arrow through the vitals but somehow unsuspecting insects on our front door are interesting (at least to me). My wife followed through after my son and I with a flip flop freaking out about "OMG! Giant Mosquitoes!" and flattened them both. 4.) Vortex69 - 05/02/2013
Did you eventually disrupt the party?......SPLAT!
5.) Swamp Fox - 05/02/2013
LOL...I don't know what those are or even if I'd recognize the name if someone identified them. But similar-looking (without the cool pattern on the wings) are crane flies which everyone calls giant mosquitoes---but which are not mosquitoes at all---And crane flies don't bite, as far as I know.
Your wife probably killed some innocent animal that was just minding its own business...LOL So now she knows how it feels....:wink 6.) DParker - 05/02/2013
That's how I want to check out. Gettin' it on and then smashed by a giant flip-flop.

Me too but that's only step 1. Step 2 for me is the full Viking thing. I want Cody Lundin to build a raft out of stuff he scavenges from the forest. Put my body on the raft. Soak 'er good with shine then cast it off into any 'ol kind of water (small pond, public water supply, ocean, sewage treatment plant, whatever) with 50 closest friends (oh wait, I don't have any friends) on the shoreline with flaming arrows set to launch. I figure with 50 archers at least one will be sober enough to hit the raft. Eh ... then again ... maybe not. The finishing touch will be a pipe band (bagpipes & drummers) playing "Amazing Grace". This, of course, is where it deviates from the Viking theme but it's my send off. As you can see I've spent many a tree stand hour going through this work in progress. My wife will only guarantee she'll slip in a CD playing Amazing Grace and even that's not firmed up. Like I said, work in progress. Now that's what I'm talking about! 8.) Sounds epic. The only minor change I would make is to substitute a good vodka for the 'shine...just to bug Swampy.
9.) Swamp Fox - 05/02/2013
Hey, I'm already on record as having lined up the Irish wake followed by the Viking funeral. There will be no vodka, except for the ladies. They can pretty much do whatever they want, as they always have.
Beer, ale, whiskey, mead and mulled wine will predominate for the males... :-) 10.) bluecat - 05/03/2013

Today's random firing.
You guys need to get your minds out of the gutter. That pair was obviously feuding. Look at their body language. Hell, they aren't even looking at each other. He probably left the seat up and she cut up his baseball cards. 11.) Bob Peck - 05/03/2013

 Yeah but at least there is hope. They're still touching. Random firing for the day: I envision a pow wow of the AW, BC, HC (whatever permutation you choose) clan getting together. We all know the group. There's an open meadow. Tents and campers spread out everywhere. Campfires are visible glowing fire flies dotting the darkness as the cool fog settles in rolling downward from the mountains. Through the binoculars we can see darkened shapes surrounding the fires and an occasional hoots rising here and there. The night vision goggles reveal much more and it's disturbing to the eyes. Then ... The police helicopters arrive on scene flooding the meadow with harsh white light. The campers scamper like cockroaches. The party is over. Only the Commander remains. Arms are extended skyward, raised defiantly above his head. His 2 sizes too small HC shirt hiked up over his belt line revealing a frisbee-sized HC tattoo and a flabby belly gained from living on a farm watching everyone else do the work while he is busy posing for pictures that appear to supplement his brand. The Commander is the Ansel Adams of farming. He's locked in the beam of the helicopter overhead determined to be the last. Truth is he believes the helicopters are alien space craft, the world as we know it has ended, the prepping and dooming is no more and he's about to be beamed up. Me? I semi-submerged in a nearby creek playing Chuck Norris and wondering why I jumped in the water. Can you tell I'm completely bored? 12.) bluecat - 05/03/2013
I think I see DP (in blue facepaint) strafing the helicopter from a nearby position point and shouting instructions to the campers. This is what we've practiced. It is all coming together.
Swampy put on your clothes for God's sake. 13.) DParker - 05/03/2013

Man, those chopper flood lights are harsh...especially after your 5th beer. 14.) DParker - 05/03/2013
