A "storm management fee" will be imposed on Maryland residents by Gov. Martin O'Malley — meaning that Maryland is essentially going to tax the rain that falls on people’s property. The bill apparently stems from an order from the Environmental Protection Agency to clean up the Chesapeake Bay estuary. The rationale is that since "roofs, driveways and carparks create more potential for drainage problems and water contamination," a fundraising fee will be assessed based on the size of the building and surrounding paved surfaces. We're guessing Phase 2 of the plan involves literally taking the food out of Maryland residents' mouths to sell. 2.) bluecat - 04/12/2013

It costs a lot to pay for big government ya know.
A government big enough to give you everything you want is also powerful enough to take it all away. 6.) bluecat - 04/12/2013
...and you are too stupid to function without goverment assistance.

Maybe we can get some of the money back we invested in green energy R&D like Solyndra and shift it to some "shovel-ready" projects like here-and-now drainage and sewer system improvement...
Oh, wait... We've had a shovel-read project for years now. The non-stop stream of BS flowing from D.C. and state houses across the country. There just aren't enough shovels to keep up with it.

LOL...
Shoveling manure is a green job, plus it could be green energy... 12.) DParker - 04/12/2013
I can't think of a more renewable...in fact, practically inexhaustible...source of biofuel.

There's a respectable-looking pickup truck---not something held together with baling wire plus "Mean People Suck" and NPR bumper stickers---that cruises around here with some signage on it that says it runs on grease from the Hardees or something like that...When I get behind it, I always think I'm gonna smell french fries...Good thing it doesn't run on pig manure...

So when you cruise through the drive-thru for your morning sausage, egg and biscuit sammich you're actually doing your bit for the environment. :tu:
