I doubt turkey hunters acted out-of-pattern on private land in my neck of the woods this year.

On public land I think gobblers were less pressured this year compared to normal, but not by much.

The weather's been decent; let's hope it holds up.

If we have a good hatch and good poult survival this year, we could be golden for two years or more, but I don't think the Kung Fu Flu was a game-changer at Camp Swampy.

Turkey hunting will be as good or bad in the coming years as it has ever been. No more, no less.

As soon as I say the weather's been decent, a tropical storm half a month early dumps cold rain on us for what looks like's gonna be four days ...


Well, okay ... Day 4 won't be so cold, but by then the damage will be done ...
