BTW...I've come to the conclusion that I might be the only person in the U.S. who doesn't give a rat's ass whether or not Popeye's chicken sandwich is better than Chick-Fil-A's.

I didn't know this was a thing until you posted.
I will say Popeye's quality is all over the map. Some of the nastiest fast food I've ever had has come from Popeyes in Maryland and Northern Virginia, which makes sense because Maryland and Northern Virginia just don't get what Popeye's is supposed to be, in general.
There used to be a place in my little town that I think was called Church's years and years ago. It was okay. I don't know if it was an early location of the chain, but I do know there was better fried chicken at the little dive directly across the road.... So guess what? ...
Chic-Fil-A needs a wake-up call on their buns. They suck. Go to the Food Lion next door and get a loaf of Pepperidge Farm rye bread (with seeds!) and toss those nasty white buns.
