From what I could see when it's head was visible it appeared to be a sow (I couldn't see any tusks, which should have been visible on a boar that size). If so they got damned lucky. Otherwise they both likely would have come out of that cage with significantly less blood than they went into it with, given how the hog got into both of them with its snout.
