I don't know that I'd read any significance into that other than that it got shared and viewed a lot. Here's a list of 20 YouTube videos that were viewed between 16.8 and 200.0 million times in their first 24 hours:

Using the "50% rule" as follows:

1. Cut the 10 million in half. Just because.
2. Cut the remaining 5 million in half because maybe these folks didn't watch it all the way through or had zero interest.
3. Cut the 2.5 million in half. 50% of the people at this point don't give a damn and never speak of the video or share it with anyone.
4. This leaves a conservative 1.25 million people who watched it all the way through, agreed or disagreed and are likely to talk about it or share it somehow.

From a marketers standpoint this was highly effective messaging. I'd take that any day of the week if I had something to say which I don't.

Applying that same rule to the "Chewbacca Mask Lady" video gives us 6.25 million people. And the "Rings Prank" video? 25 million. And both of those were in their first 24 hours, not 48. I'm still trying to figure out what they had to say.
