1.) Swamp Fox - 09/13/2017
Noticed these on sale and thought I'd give a heads-up.
Dick's has the Ultra (pump: 2 3/4, 3 and 3.5 inch compatible) for $299 right now, so if anyone's looking for a project gun ... And Walmart has a bit of a discount on the Ozark Trail coolers at the moment. They get varying reviews and I can't say how they compare to my favorites, the Igloo MaxCold or Coleman Extreme (except that the OTs are more money) but if you're looking for a cooler you can stand on or something like that, it's an option. If I can find a good review of "premium" coolers that I saw this past spring, I'll post it. 2.) Jon - 09/13/2017
One bit of advice....whatever you do, don't punch in dicks dot com

I think at some point in the past I related the story of my son's first attempt to find Dick's Sporting Goods via Google when he was quite young and new to the internet...and how I found him curled up in the corner weeping and rubbing his eyes. 4.) Swamp Fox - 09/13/2017
LOL...

They are really awesome. I am so glad I got one when I did! 8.) Swamp Fox - 09/13/2017

I only noticed the hard ones in the store over the weekend, but I think I saw soft ones on the website this morning. Don't recall if they were on sale. 9.) Swamp Fox - 09/13/2017
Is there a difference pre- and post-lawsuit with the RTICs? I know there was some friction but don't know that I remember a lawsuit.

Yes, the originals were carbon copys of YETI. They had to re-design their entire product line, and frankly, their new designs look cheap to me. 11.) Swamp Fox - 09/13/2017
Huh. I missed that somehow.
If my ship comes in AND I decide to re-jigger my present fishing system, I have my eye on the Orion coolers. But those are two big ifs. http://orioncoolers.com/ I haven't been that impressed with YETI. My reference point is a MaxCold or an Extreme (I forget now) with a hog on ice on a sunny porch mid-summer for several days vs. beer on ice in a smaller YETI in a pickup bed in early fall. I thought the YETI should have done a lot better for the money. |
