They finally caught the Midnight Rider.

This is a kick in the gut. Not that he's the first on my list to go, or the last, but when I remember as if it were yesterday discovering Eat A Peach at the public library, wearing it out for a week or so, and rushing back for Brothers And Sisters--- that would make this 1974, then--you could say I was a bit of an Allman Brothers fan.

R.I.P.

He wasn't that old either...though I'm sure his time with Cher took years off his life.
4.) Swamp Fox - 05/29/2017
Sixty-nine years old. We'd better get cracking...LOL

Rolling Stone had a surprisingly flat piece on his passing. Or unsurprisingly, depending on what you think of modern-day Rolling Stone.

However, there was this nugget, lifted from the last lines of Allman's autobiography, My Cross To Bear:
"When it's all said and done, I'll go to my grave and my brother will greet me saying, 'Nice work, little brother – you did all right.' [sic] I must have said this a million times, but if I died today, I've had me a blast. I wouldn't trade [my life] for nobody's, but I don't know if I'd do it again. If somebody offered me a second round, I think I'd have to pass on it."
Yeah, I had nicknames for mine at that age too.

Don't wait around till you are 70. Do things now!! Not everyone makes it to 70.

I can tell you what you'll do, you'll go to a different doctor for about 40 different health problems that you never had before you retired, you might even loose an eye like I did if you're lucky. Boys, old age ain't for weenies, so get ready to buck up and fight.

I feel like I have to clean up after Crookedeye...LOL

Here is Gregg with Dickey Betts on a GA song...I don't know when this was recorded, but I'm just gonna say it's a remarkable collaboration considering what became or what was bad blood between them. I'm not sure they ever played together after 2000, so let's say this was toward the end of the partnership.

They both seem to have let things go a few years ago. I think that is ABB/Gov't Mule guitarist Warren Haynes with them (third from left), but I can't tell/don't know who the fourth guitarist is.
