I was raised with 3 sisters and a very strong woman for a mother. I learned quickly there was no such thing as women's work. Work is work no matter who is doing the work. I don't see color or gender when I hire people. I see education, motivation and spirit.

I have 2 daughters and 2 sons. No one has to preach equal rights, equal pay and fairness to me. No one has to march to get my attention. It's not that complicated. Protect your clan, support everyone in the clan.

Over the weekend, a guy walks into a bar. Even though the women's march and the inauguration had brought huge crowds to the city, there's nobody there except the bartender and a beautiful woman sitting in a corner.

The man says to the bartender, "I'm buying that woman a drink."

The bartender says, "You don't want to do that. She's a lesbian."

"I don't care. Give her the drink," says the man.

The woman gets the drink and raises the glass in salute. The man strolls over to her and says, "Hi. I'm Ted, from Omaha. So how are things in Beirut?"

That one always reminds me of a scene from [I]All In The Family[/I] (yeah, I'm that old) where Edith is having a conversation with a woman who informs her, "I'm a lesbian." After a moment of letting that sink in Edith responds with something like, "And you don't even have an accent."
