How do we know it's "venison flavored" ?

If it is actual venison flavoring how does it get that way?

P.S
Hint: That's not real bone.

EASY... CHEW A REAL ANTLER AND COMPARE TO THE NUBZ. PERSONALLY, IF MY DOG LIKES IT, THEN WHO CARES.

Nubz Wild Edible Antler Alternative - Venison
Better than the real thing! Natural Nubz Wild antler alternatives are delicious, easy-to-digest edible occupying chews for dogs. Shaped like deer antlers and flavored with natural venison, Nubz Wild antlers are made in the USA with limited ingredients, no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives, and none of the splinters, mold, or mess that can come with real, wild-collected antlers.

So...is bringing home sheds for your dogs to chew on really a thing?

Apparently, it is. I've seen them at the local chain pet stores. Small pieces of deer and elk antlers and they charge a fortune for them!
6.) bluecat - 11/01/2016
It says Nylabone (sp) on the antler.
7.) Bob Peck - 11/01/2016
That does it. I'm going to gnaw on one and provide a product review. I'll give the other to my dog and then interview him for the record.
8.) billy b - 11/01/2016
Can't wait till you post results, in the mean time I'll interview my Black & Tan hound.
It says Nylabone (sp) on the antler.
Nice catch! Had to put my glasses on to see that one.

I'll drink a Black & Tan (or two or three) waiting on the results of your interview!

IF IT'S ANYTHING LIKE DEER HOOVES, THEN WHEN GNAWED AND GOOEY, THEY SMELL LIKE JONS EXPERIMENTAL SCRAPE. MY DOGS LOVE EM, THEY TOLD ME SO BY NOT LETTING GO WHEN TRYING TO TOSS THE STINK TOES OUT THE DOOR.
12.) Alex - 11/02/2016
3 Labs... they love them and other items like them.

But they smell to high heaven when slobbered over.

So they are only allowed outside. Otherwise the dogs will lay in the LR and chew them on the rug. The smell goes right into the rugs and are a PITA to get out.

They can enjoy them on the deck all they want but they drop them at the door when coming back in.
3 Labs... they love them and other items like them.
Yeah. But what do they taste like and how do you or the Labs know they're venison flavored?
14.) Swamp Fox - 11/02/2016
My sister, who's very good with dogs and many things veterinary, asked me to bird-dog sheds and unwanted racks for her a number of years ago. I got the impression it was just becoming a thing. I tried to talk her out of it because I couldn't imagine the splinters and shards being good for Pete the Pup or Ol' Ralph or whatever you call your best buddy when everyone's been freaking out about kitchen bones for decades.

Anybody seeing real deer antlers sold commercially these days? Or have they been replaced with synthetics?

Never heard of giving dogs deer hooves, though anyone who's ever lived in the country or somewhere near the country knows they love the legs and will bring them home from fantastic distances, LOL.
Yeah. But what do they taste like and how do you or the Labs know they're venison flavored?
haha.. i would say they dont really.
But clearly you are a much deeper thinker than my labs.
16.) bluecat - 11/02/2016
lab tested
17.) bluecat - 11/02/2016
btw, ever step on a chew hoof while barefoot as you are stumbling to the bathroom?

I think that's a compliment, Bob, but he might just be fishing for a Christmas card...
