If I had a a trip planned with an outfitter, I wouldn't cancel. This is not like turning a cold shoulder to vendors who continued to want to show at the Eastern Sports outdoor show even though the show officially took an anti-gun stance. Those vendors needed to suck up the punishment they were not willing to endure voluntarily, because they would not stand on principal themselves, and that's a Bozo No-No.

Don't punish the outfitters who likely feel exactly the way you do. Many of the other people who depend on tourist dollars if you go to Colorado are on your side as well.

Choose to cross Colorado off your list for the future, if you feel inclined, but a few well-placed letters and phone calls will do more than just skipping the state altogether.

You should all be joining together to fight the new gun laws as one voice and not turning you anger onto each other. Have you ever heard of "Divide and Conquer " well thats what the anti gun lobbyists are trying to do to you guys and it looks as though some cracks are appearing.
When they talked about banning fox hunting over here the hunting community called for a march of solidarity and 100's of thousands of hunters marched on London But 100's of thousands stayed at home and left it to someone else. If everyone had turned out it would have made those members of parliament think twice and maybe the result would have been different.

I hope Magpul ditches the state as well. That is the kind of statements that mean something. Hunters not coming to the state mainly hurts the little people. They cant just pickup stakes and relocate. They are staying for better or worse. I wont ever let dumbazz politicians keep me from legally hunting any state that i feel like or can afford to go to. Its OK with me if some feel otherwise, I wont criticize you for it. However, my support of outfitters, mom & pop gas stations, campgrounds & sporting goods stores doesnt mean im anti 2A in the least.

By continuing to support the state financially, you ARE giving those politicians their way. No pain for their constituency as a result of their (elected representatives) actions means no passed-along pain for those politicians, and less incentive for them to behave differently. So they get to pass anti-2A legislation without suffering additional consequences for it (pressure from those who themselves are suffering because of it).

That doesn't mean that there aren't valid arguments for continuing to go there and spend money...but you're certainly not sticking it to the CO legislature in any way.

I enjoy getting out to see him each year as well as the quality hunting in that area. I also know that without hunters, his family would have a hard time getting by each year. They rely heavily on that source of income. Im not trying to stick it to anyone in CO. Im just not going to have them get their way by having hunters opt out of coming to that state to hunt. IMO , i dont think the CO legislature cares at all whether or not we hunters show up to hunt. Now when big business picks up camp and leaves, thats a different story. I dont think Magpul will have the back bone to leave tho. I think the state will scramble to keep them there and we wont know what the comprimise actually is. Time will tell.

The statement in red makes no sense on its own, and absolutely contradicts the one in blue. First off, how exactly is not going to CO and spending money there letting politicians "have their way"? If anything the opposite is true (for reasons already stated multple times). And it makes even less sense if you believe that they don't even care whether or not hunters show up. Like I said, there are valid arguments for doing what you plan to do. But "I'm defying the politicians" isn't one of them.

Magpul was not joking, plus its too late. If they reverse course now, they will lose huge in their customers minds and destroy their biz. If they do move, customers will continue to flock to them. Their announcement was one of the best marketing plays they could have made, although I do think the play was made out of principle and not for pure marketing reasons. Yeah, as much nonsense as she spews on a regular basis she actually had something of a legitimate point here (the point being simply the existence of the device and what it does, not whether or not it needs to be banned). An attempted back-peddle which, of course, completely fails because...

1) Clips most certainly CAN be reused...and are all of the time by shooters of C&R ("Curio and Relic") rifles, including myself.

2) The topic she was addressing was the proposed CO ban on "high-capacity" magazines, not clips (there is no such proposed ban, which makes sense given that there are no "high-capacity" clips, nor have clips been in common use in rifles since the Korean War).
