Why isn't there much focus on how quiet these new bows are?
it seems like everyone only cares about how fast they are...

Correct me if I'm wrong but if you have a little slower bow they should be a little more quiet?

I'll be in the market for a new bow soon and am starting my rearch.

A given bow should be a quieter with a heavier arrow, but I think there's too much else going on in a bow's design and build to say that a slower Bow X [B]must[/B] be quieter than faster Bow Y.

At least one of the gear magazines does a noise test on the new bows each year, or has in the past. I'm blanking on which one, though. Maybe a gooble search would bring it up.

I think most bows these days are relatively quiet. I don't know if I've ever seen a decibel comparison test nor if I did, I don't think it would matter a whole lot in my decision process. I soft shooting bow too tends to be fairly quiet as well.

I've seen the decibel test done by field and stream or one of them. The bows are all so damn quiet, it's a waste of time to compare anymore. A better comparison is that you can drop bow weight down at least 10# and get more speed than a bow from 5 years ago at the heavier weight draw. That's where the money is.

I did find one old [I]Outdoor Life[/I] google reference, but it was from something like four years ago.

Probably right that the decibel tests are very close, and also I think there's the possibility that putting bows up to side-by-side tests isn't popular with the advertising department. I'd look for more individual reviews.
