1.) Swamp Fox - 09/08/2016
This has been going on for a few weeks, but I wondered if anyone here was following it elsewhere.

The basics are that UA dropped their sponsored hunter, who filmed her unsponsored husband hunting and killing a bear on a legal spear hunt in Canada.

I'm not sure you can find the video anymore and I never saw it, but beyond all the spear talk, the main complaints against the team from hunters (and others) seem to be excessive celebration (to use the NFL's term) and some graphic tracking and wound video.

The main complaints against UA are that they didn't back one of their reps who was filming (not even hunting!) a legal chase. A mere 4000 or so signatures on an on-line petition following a British newspaper story about the hunt and video were too much for the Fortune 500 company, and they dropped the axe.

This of course spills over to other UA-sponsored hunters who haven't been critical of the company, or even stomped off in protest.

It's an interesting mess.

By the way, the hunter is a gym rat who was a top-tier javelin competitor in his past life. I guess you could say he's the last guy you would try to accuse of being unprepared for the hunt.

My Outdoor TV bans "trophy hunting" shows

Meanwhile, in the British Empire, you see why it is no longer an empire:

[QUOTE]What we see in these weasel words is a lack of morality and restraint in the trophy-hunting community...

Therefore, decency must be imposed. Parliament should pass legislation to ban this channel and the pastimes it depicts.

Okey dokey, then.
