Very good. I'll bet it's very buoyant for its size. I'd like to try that behind a casting float as a middle choice between a small fly and a large crappie jig.
3.) bluecat - 08/24/2016
I wondered that too, but if you watch the video it sank like a lightweight jig. Perhaps some dressing might keep it up. Or....
(I'm thinking as I'm typing), you could stuff some strips of styrofoam (like from a bait bucket) into the outer sheath layer and I bet it would float like a popping bug. 4.) billy b - 08/24/2016
Hmmmmm, I bet my crappie haven't seen one of those yet.
5.) Swamp Fox - 08/24/2016
I suppose with one end of the sheath open, it wouldn't float like paracord does, now that I think about it.
Maybe slice a small piece of packing peanut, wrap to the hook shank, and insert in sheath. Or, as you say, if you have dressing around anyway... 6.) bluecat - 08/24/2016

(Insert that's-what-she-said joke here) Years ago when I was living in Southern California I started my software engineering career working for a small start-up in Irvine. Our marketing people were cooking up gimmicks for an upcoming trade show, and one of them was a dopey little green fuzzy critter with our company logo on it that they were going to give away at our booth. It was nothing but a small ball of imitation green fur with eyeballs and little vinyl cutout feet glued to it. But they couldn't give most of them away, so after the show they handed them out to all of the employees. What they thought we were going to do with them, I don't know. But what I did with mine was to thread some 15 lb mono-filament through it with a treble hook on one end so that the hook dangled from the bottom of the feet, and tied a snap-swivel to the other end. I then took it to the Aliso Beach Pier and used it to catch a nice Bonito. I then had someone snap a pic of me posing with the fish and the lure hanging from it's mouth, took the pic with me to the office the following Monday and passed it around. Strangely, the marketing group didn't think it was nearly as funny as the rest of us did. 8.) bluecat - 08/24/2016

Two, if you count the one we tend to think with. |
