...here's a good reminder of the importance of hydration, and that the heat is nothing to play around with in general, especially in dry, desert areas.

I've been in the Superstition Mountains, and it's a rough environment even without the mercury being in the triple-digit range.

I thought I'd heard that three people died but maybe that wasn't all in the same vicinity. Or maybe I heard wrong.

When you go to the Grand Canyon, especially when you try to hike the whole down-and-back, they tell you stories about people falling out--or worse--from heat/lack of water.

The one good thing about the desert, though, is you don't have to worry about alligators.

We often get them in DF/W lakes.
