We went to visit Fort Casey on Whidbey Island in Washington State on 3/31/2016. It was a bright, sunny and warm day out. We got there at 7:30 a.m. and spent 3 hours just walking around enjoying the weather and the sights.

3.) Swamp Fox - 04/05/2016

Very nice. That's quite a lighthouse, lol. I like the light coming through the turret in the last pic.

I bet the view from it and the big white house is something. Do you know who used them/lived there?

Do the lifts and such on the disappearing guns still work? It would be cool to see them raised and lowered.

The view from the Fort is Spectacular. It's been over 30 years since they have allowed anyone up into the turret of the lighthouse because the stairs are super narrow and steep. Some idiot fell down them and sued the state, so that ended the public from going up there. :(

The lifts on the guns don't work anymore. :( They did when I was a kid, but that was well over 50 years ago. :( Time, weather and disrepair have taken their toll. :(
