Here's a good trick for setting up a multi-rod spread for pushing or spider-rigging.

I've seen store-bought bucket rigs like this for fewer rods at ten times what this would cost to do (minus the cost of the aerator, if any).

Nice idea.

Unless I'm catfishing, more rods equal more stress, tangles and problems. Prefer just one rod where it is more peaceful.

I don't know how popular it is in other parts of the country, but you should see some crappie boats around here. Ten or twelve rods out, sometimes more. That's three or four fishermen minimum usually, but I saw one boat Saturday with that many manned by two. They slayed them, by the way. I made a note to follow the "SS Porcupine" whenever I see her, LOL.

It takes some work to manage that many lines.

I only fish for crappie after they return to deep structure, I have some brush piles that I put in, & I bait um up to attract baitfish, I can usually catch a limit (20) in a few hours if it's not too windy, this lake I go early & usually I'm off the lake by 10am.

It took me three hours to catch one crappie on Saturday...And then I spent two more hours trying to duplicate my success...LOL...


Maybe that was the problem...If I'd only had one more hour....:-)
