1.) Wild Bob - 12/29/2015
I thought I'd post this for you guys that are missing winter weather this year. (LOL :wink)
I took the boys out yesterday for beautiful day on the hard water...the fishing wasn't all that hot (only caught three perch) but we had fun. The high was 17 and the wind laid down for a change, so it was pretty pleasant. There's just something about nice hot bacon sandwiches and fresh coffee, that helps make the slow time pass... 2.) Jon - 12/29/2015
WHAT, no Brandy??
3.) DParker - 12/29/2015

She's sitting in the ice shanty. 4.) Swamp Fox - 12/29/2015
When she goes to take a pea, kick her in the ice hole...
:wink Or don't, depending on her attitude about ice fishing... 5.) The Old Man - 12/30/2015
Nice! I'm jealous. We haven't had good ice making weather until just lately. Maybe able to make it out after New Years. How thick was the ice?
6.) billy b - 12/30/2015
Beautiful pics Bob, I have never had the opportunity to do that, maybe some day:tu:
7.) Wild Bob - 12/30/2015
Old Man - It's been warmer than usual here too. The ice on that Reservior is about 10" thick right now (by now it normally would be between 18" and 24").
Billy - Anytime you want to come north and try your hand at ice fishing you've got an open invitation in Montana! :tu: 8.) billy b - 12/30/2015
I'll take the invite under advisement:wink
9.) luv2bowhunt - 12/30/2015
He would freeze to death up there. Anything north of Oklahoma and he's done.:wink
Looks waaaayyyyy too cold for fishing to me. I'm glad you enjoy it, I'll stick to winter scouting my friend. 10.) Swamp Fox - 12/30/2015
Some of the coldest I've ever been was in Texas in February. And I thought I was dressed for cold...
Not crazy, brain-frozen cold like some of you knuckleheads live in, but bona fide cold nonetheless. Ice fishing does nothing for me. But then again, I've never done it. It could be a blast. Maybe if there was alcohol involved, or a big-screen fishfinder. I do like the bacon aspect of it. :wink I also really like the classic ice fishing/ polar bear hunting joke about taking a pea at the ice hole, though, so I've got that going for me...Even though either no one got it, or the reference went right over everyone's heads...LOL 11.) You say that but what if the ice shanty was towed out on the ice complete with wood stove, kitchen, couch and beverages? Yeah. I thought so. 12.) DParker - 12/30/2015

Yuup, she is nice:wink 14.) Wild Bob - 12/30/2015

I will say, IMHO, that all bets change when the mercury drops below zero (F), especially with a high wind, but that's another argument all together. :-) The polar bear joke thingy...I just didn't want to be following the sick on that one, so I didn't acknowledge it. :-) 15.) Absolutely. Thas what I've been tryin' to tell people! LOL 17.) DParker - 12/30/2015

But that's another argument. 18.) Swamp Fox - 12/30/2015

Classic! 19.) Wild Bob - 12/30/2015
Here's another shot of winter for you...
We skied out this afternoon to check a couple of coyote snares that I have set out. Nothing, this time...but at least we got our exercise today! 20.) DParker - 12/30/2015
Then back to the lodge to sip hot toddies with the hotter ski bunnies...right?
21.) Swamp Fox - 12/30/2015
Okay, now you've gone too far...
22.) Wild Bob - 12/30/2015
Haahahahaha! Nope, afraid not.
One of my lazy Britts deep in a winter slumber is about the only thing lounging around my hacienda. (But he is doing a pretty good job at being lazy...) 23.) Swamp Fox - 12/31/2015
Lazy Brittany? Isn't that an oxymoron?
I had a housemate way back who had a Brittany and have seen one or two others working. I'm not sure any of them had a rival for wound-up, and 24-7 too, the way I remember it. 24.) Wild Bob - 12/31/2015
Yea, mine are pretty high strung too...but when they do crash (for short periods of time), they crash hard!
I'll be putting this little guy to work hard later this afternoon; we've got a 'New Years Eve' pheasant hunt planned...it should be a good one. With the snow, we've got a tall reed / cattail area where the birds are held up thick! And for once - this spot is on a property where we can hunt them...:tu: |
