I guess it never occurred to these geniuses to wonder why a 600-round mag could be had for $0.05 LESS than a 40-rounder, or how much 600-rounds of .223 lead and brass might weigh.

Another page from the same article. Apparently you can pull the trigger on an AR-15 as fast as once every 1.33 seconds (I guess the poor reporter has arthritis or something). I also like the fact that they used a silhouette of an AK-47 for illustration:
