OHBH said that picture was on Jess' bucket list...I figured it was more of a "Wow...I guess you weren't kidding about this guy" kind of thing, more than anything else. :wink
You know, like hearing about wampus cats and the Lizard Man vs. knowing that they actually exist...That's my story, anyway, and I'm sticking to it. :-) http://www.coastalguide.com/hatteras-jack.html http://northcarolinaghosts.com/ http://www.hauntedlowcountry.com/index.php?/hauntlow/south_carolina/the_gray_man/  5.) billy b - 06/08/2015
Holy crap Swampy, I thought you were working on camp Swampy?????? Please stay away from my sweetie, I have enough trouble with Dave :tap: :bang:
6.) Swamp Fox - 06/08/2015
LOL...I am walking the fine line between keeping up Camp Swampy, preparing for deer season, working on a boat project or two and fishing...This trip to the heart of Tobacco Country (formerly, sad to say) to meet Dave and Jess was squeezed in, but much anticipated by me.
Dave and Jess are great Americans, and I enjoyed seeing Dave again, but not as much as meeting Jess for the first time. :nk: Dave must have a lucky horseshoe, or something...He definitely married up. :wink Their kids are great and the two girls are real sweeties...The older one is sharp as a tack, and the baby is a cutie pie...The two boys take after Dave...LOL...I believe I would enjoy throwing water balloons at whatever they'd like with them... I hope they can all come through again. 7.) Swamp Fox - 06/08/2015
BTW, anybody with kids who visits the Outer Banks should know the legend of Calico Jack...and not just the skull and crossbones version...See the first link above...
Ahoy! 8.) Swamp Fox - 06/08/2015
Duh...I meant Hatteras Jack...I have Calico Jack on the brain right now, but that is a story for another day...

The only things archery related I've been doing are helping my daughter tune up her shooting skills and visiting the chiropractor so that maybe I can shoot a bow again someday!
10.) Jon - 06/08/2015

11.) bluecat - 06/08/2015

Are you having issues since last season or has it been going on a while? 14.) Swamp Fox - 06/08/2015

Gonna take the cover off the boat and see if she runs:tu: BOWFISH"N :hb:
Seems like I'm constantly running errands lately for this and that. They're just not archery- related yet. I need to get to couple of bow shops and see if they have some old Biscuit inserts, and one shop used to sell Blue Streaks very inexpensively and I could use some more. Have a couple of test arrows I want to cut for S&G's (I don't have a saw). I'm back to fletching my own arrows and I have a ton backed up, so I have to find the time for that. Fortunately, that's not an emergency situation, LOL. Same deal with one or two sets of new bowstrings and some bow tinkering... Mostly I'll be working in the woods since I didn't get much done in the post season and this spring...Somehow :bang:...I keep telling myself I don't want to be doing hard labor in June and July, but here we are...Mapped out a game plan for some stand shifts and some new stands on the last scout a week or so ago...Gonna start on that this coming weekend. 15.) Ohbuckhunter - 06/08/2015
I very much married up. But in all fairness Jess is damn near blind so she doesn't know what I truly look like.
16.) Wild Bob - 06/08/2015
Looks like fun in the Carolinas!
Good luck bowfishing Deerminator :tu: I've been practicing most evenings...but that may slow down now that the mosquitoes came out. :re: 17.) Swamp Fox - 06/08/2015

LOL...Still doesn't fully explain it... :-) 18.) Hunter - 06/08/2015
Swampy, you get a new hat or is that the one you pull out for special occasions?
19.) Swamp Fox - 06/08/2015
That is my summer Sunday go-to-town hat, LOL. I've had it for a while.
Some pretty good stories go with it, LOL.... 20.) Triton Rich - 06/09/2015
Are you having issues since last season or has it been going on a while?
I did something to my upper back between the shoulder blade and spine. It's been a month or more with very little progress. It would probably go better if I could just arbitrarily take a few weeks off of work! On the bright side, my little girl's bow skills are improving dramatically! :-) 21.) Deerminator - 06/09/2015
I knew that wasn't Swampys :wink

Hope your back gets feeling better soon TR. Glad to hear your daughter is shooting :tu:... I know how much it means to me that my son shoots with me - it really is fun to get them going and watch them take off! Here is a picture of my son shooting that I took recently. Rich, that sounds like something I had a while back. I can't remember and probably never knew what I did to get it. Just a sudden over-exertion or a pinch or something. All I can say is when it starts to get better, give it a little more time before you test it out, LOL. Wait, and then wait some more. :tap:
 24.) Triton Rich - 06/09/2015
Looks like your son is a bit more advanced Bob, my daughter just started to shoot the long ways accross the garage :-)
Yeah Swampy, it's taking forever. I did get impatient a couple of times and pick up the bow. It didn't hurt all that bad but it didn't help either. I think it might be a strain. I did feel a twinge a while back while breaking a bolt loose with a breaker bar. I've read up to 4-6 weeks for that to heal so hopefully, it starts getting better soon. 25.) bluecat - 06/09/2015
One thing that can help speed recovery is the use of electro-stimulation devices. You can pick one up for less than a hundred. You need to keep active and not let injured muscles atrophy. It's a safe way of getting some stimulus. Takes maybe 20 minutes a day if you do it. Not painful and rather enjoyable.

We have one of the small TENS devices. I've had it done at the chiropractor in the past and it seemed to help and didn't feel bad. With our portable one at home, it just feels like getting shocked. It makes the muscles go crazy and hurts. Doesn't seem as effective either. Maybe just a lousy brand or something. 30.) bluecat - 06/10/2015

There are actually two types of stimulus. TENS, (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) which is mostly to curb pain and then the muscle stimulus which is to increase circulation and healing. I have a unit that can do one or the other. If your session makes your muscle go crazy and hurt then it is WAY too much stimulus. My unit lets me adjust the amount. Uses 9V battery or AA's, I forget which. It has made a huge difference. When you sustain an injury your muscles begin to favor different muscles to get the job done at the expense of letting the injured ones atrophy. Sorry you had a bad experience. I'm a big fan. 31.) bluecat - 06/10/2015
