I found some for 70$ a brick of cci
and armscor or blazer 50 count for 7$/box

Dick's Sporting Goods in their Sunday circular just advertised a brick (525) of .22 lr Remington hollow point for 29.99. I jumped on it. My wife was with me and so she grabbed a box as well. There was only a few boxes left by the time I got there at 11:00 in the morning.

When the check-out girl rang up both boxes the register still said 30.00. I looked at her and said, "You got both boxes right?". She said she did, so I walked out of there with 1050 rounds for 30.00. :wink

I have heard people refer to a 100-round box as a brick, but I wonder how common it is. It seems rare, but this is in recent times, and I just wonder how rare. I also kinda remember that usage when I was a kid. But when you're a little 10 year-old snot-gobbler, a 100-rd. box sure seems like a brick, so I can understand that. :-)

I'm actually not sure when I last saw a 500 (+)-rnd brick available to take off a shelf and walk out the door with (I'm not talking about on-line purchases.)

Last time I bought .22 LR ammo I paid $10/box (100 rnds) for CCI Mini Mags, which are hard to find around here. I don't shoot a lot of Stingers, but they're more available, yet no cheaper. Other stuff I shoot I almost never see anywhere.

I know the gun shop I most often frequent will get $13-14 a box (100) for Mini Mags at the rare points they have any in stock. I think that's too much and wouldn't pay it.

You would think so...LOL
8.) Swamp Fox - 05/12/2015
Well, to be honest, sometimes people call the "bonus box" that has 525 or 550 rounds to entice you to buy Brand X over Brand Y a brick, too.

So maybe a brick is in the eye of the gun-holder...:groan:

Somebody stop me before I pun some more!

Honey is in the hive of the bee--holder?

I just thought now that we've heard from everybody on this subject, it was time to move on to something else....LOL
13.) bluecat - 05/12/2015
I think a nice potential feature for the website would be when you or the other three members are on the site we get text alerts. LOL!
14.) Swamp Fox - 05/12/2015
Brilliant!

It would save a lot of fruitless checking.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...
15.) Deerminator - 05/13/2015
:laugh:lmao
16.) Deerminator - 05/13/2015
Found out it would be about 40 bucks cheaper across the border in PA:bang:
17.) Swamp Fox - 05/13/2015
$30 for a brick of decent ammo?
18.) Swamp Fox - 05/14/2015
A question so nice, I'll ask it twice: good quality .22 ammo for $30 a brick? CCI? What flavor?

That's back-to-normal pricing.
19.) bluecat - 05/14/2015
Well, "on special" for $30 a brick I think is a good price. Bricks used to be around $20+ before the ammo/gun rush.
Buying a box of 50 here and there is not something I would consider.

The ones I got were Remington. The only way to get .22 shells is to happen into Cabelas on a weekday morning and you'll see some. They sprinkle them out through the week.
20.) Swamp Fox - 05/14/2015
You made out like a bandit even without the free brick, LOL.
21.) Wild Bob - 05/14/2015
Since this one went down the wrong path...can I add to the jokes here?

I heard a good one the other day, it goes like this:

- A young woman runs into the kitchen and all in a tizzy asks her mother a question; "Mom, Mom! You can't get pregnant from anal sex can you??? To which her mother replies, "Well, sure you can honey, where do you think lawyers come from?"
22.) bluecat - 05/14/2015
:-) Very nice.
