If you know of any articles that are better than this, or which have a different approach, post them up:
http://www.turkeyandturkeyhunting.com/after-the-hunt/preserving_a_turkeys_trophy_parts I thought about taking a wing for a flydown beater from my last bird, but was too lazy. I don't use my old ratty one much and since I don't use a vest it's a little much to carry...Still a neat weapon to have in your arsenal, though. 2.) Deerminator - 04/09/2015
Could also be a good way to get shot. Keep them wings covered.
I did the Borax thing with a set of wings, split the skin on the limbs . Cleaned, (actually ate )the meat. The frying pan was handy and so was the stove. A little salt/pepper, BADDA BING. ( chopped fine with rice and Chinese veggies). But I DIGRESS; I then packed the wings with the Borax, sewed them up. Lasted a 8 yrs or so, time until a mouse got at it. Surprising how much wind one of those wings can push. 3.) Deerminator - 04/09/2015
Aside from that I prefer to freeze the good parts.
