First, I haven't paper-tuned since this adjustment but accuracy and POI seem unaffected after (admittedly) only a handful of shots.

I moved a Fuse (QAD clone) all the way to the rear on its bracket to accommodate a very short arrow. Kinda like an overdraw. :wink When I originally set it up and paper-tuned, it was set in the middle but I was right on the edge of the arrow, too close for comfort.

No extra slack in the cord that runs to the cable by doing this, compared to the first setting, which surprised me. Maybe everything was tight as heck at the first setting. Should I draw the cord tighter just because? I'm about 1/16 inch off my timing mark. The adjustment on the bracket was approx. 3/8-1/2 inch back toward the string. I don't think I'm getting any contact, but can't swear until I shoot more/look further.

Before I get all fussy with everything, what do you all think? Leave it be unless a problem appears, or get out the tuning rack and foot powder?

BTW, this is a old solo cam bow I don't use much. It's set up to be my run-and-gun turkey bow and fourth- or fifth-string deer backup, LOL. Unless I upgrade the sights I won't be shooting anything past 25 yards. That is my way of explaining I don't want to get all anal about this situation. :wink

Hey droopy drawers.

Don't know if this helps, but eyeball your prongs as you draw. [B]Just[/B] before it you start in the valley, you want it up fully. If that is the case, then you are just fine. You know your cord won't be overly tight. In reverse order, you know your prongs are getting the heck out of the way with plenty of time to spare. You can do the foot powder thing to get a warm fuzzy, but I think you are good to go.

Yeah, I am going to look at that next. I just noticed the timing mark discrepancy and wondered if that's a good-enough indication of the care I do or don't need to take in any next steps.

I know the marks are supposed to line up, but I don't know if there's a fudge factor in real life or if everyone goes "exactly by the book" and gets an exact match. The cord is served in, so all I'm going to do if any adjustment is necessary is try to pull it out a little farther through the trigger thingy dealio...I think that's the technical term.


Somebody set me straight if that sounds like I'm going to poke my eye out. :wink

There's a line on the rest and another on the trigger wheel (the wheel that cocks the launcher arms up). They are both horizontal. When they line up at full draw, that's when you know you have your rest cord at the proper tension/position on the cable.

My understanding is that if you're close, it's the same thing as readjusting at the cable if you just adjust at the trigger wheel by pulling or slackening there. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong on that, but this rig is served in, so it would be more of a PITA to adjust at the cable than I'm hoping for.

I just wonder if 1/16 inches away from lining up exactly is good enough for government work, or if I should go ahead and pull a little cord at the wheel if it's worth it.

Sorry, I didn't realize there was a timing doo-hickey, thing-a-ma-jigger dealie. My first thought is 1/16 isn't that much with respect to launcher arm timing but I'm not familiar with your rest.

I dig my Trophy Taker Smackdown Pro. I moved from Vapotrails Limbdriver to the the TT because it's quieter. Super easy to tune.
