I got ahold of some new arrows, and figured I had a week to put them thru the paces before indoor nationals. I fletched them up, got 'em cut pointed built and sighted in.
5 spot last night and the stats 5 spot shoot today. About half way thru the round today, I noticed this wonderful green streak on the left side of the shoot thru riser. First thought...gee, that is about the same olor as the vanes. Second thought...keep shooting, NO TWEAKING...lol. Third thought...how much is that costing you DA?? Looks like a I have a little bit of tweaking to do. 2.) BULLZ-i - 03/10/2013
YOU SUFFER FROM THE H**T SHANKS. BOW TOO HEAVY AND GUARANTEED TORQUING ISSUES
3.) billy b - 03/10/2013
Git ya a whisker Biskit & start using clear vanes.

What you fix'in to do? 5.) hoyt_em - 03/11/2013
I need to get my arrow to be straighter, and not bang the sides so
much...I can still score banging the side tho... Read that with a straight face... 6.) Floyd - 03/11/2013
...or stiffer? I'm trying to picture this.
7.) Triton Rich - 03/11/2013
Just trim the vanes down a little. :tu:

Just watch the main vane 9.) Swamp Fox - 03/11/2013
Is it possible there's a nut loose behind the riser?
10.) Floyd - 03/11/2013
BULLZ-I SAID THIS SITE WOULD FIX ALL YOUR H**TER PROBLEMS. http://www.firenock.com/main.php?page=AerovaneJig
11.) BULLZ-i - 03/11/2013
H**TER SHOOTER PROBLEMS, I'M SURE HE HAS OTHERS
12.) Triton Rich - 03/11/2013
Now that I've made my smart remark maybe I'll try and help. Does it have a floating yoke? If not, maybe a little yoke tuning. Other than that, stiffening up the arrow is all I can come up with.
13.) hoyt_em - 03/11/2013
Rich, this should all be a center shot issue. Reset and a Walk back tune and maybe (as much as i hate it) a few holes thru paper this afternoon.
In my excited haste i never even thought to double check it on these much stiffer arrows. I had originally set the center shot and did a walk back, all was good. Afterwards in my readings I found that the real world center shot setting is closer to the riser than the actual measured center shot. I didn't worry about it, due to the walk back saying all was good. Yes, it is a floating yoke. 14.) crookedeye - 03/11/2013
just move youre rest a little to the right..
15.) Triton Rich - 03/11/2013
Not paper tuning, oh the horror! Try some bare shafts through paper. I like that method, besides, when it comes out right you get a real bullet hole!
16.) hoyt_em - 03/11/2013
Paper tuning seems to be an exercise in frustration...lol
I been a fan of walk back tuning, it works for me...and I don't get frustrated. Its not that I don't paper tune...Its great for setting nock height, but usually I end up walking back immediately after. 17.) Bob Peck - 03/11/2013

Sounds like you have some tail whipping or wag going on off the launch pad. It can't be that bad or you'd be shooting much worse *and* inconsistent. I vote for no tweaking this close to competition especially since it sounds like you're shooting pretty good. You know and I know that archers are born tinkerers. This streaking will eat at you until you fix it. Block it out for now and get in the zone. Once the competition is over, get out of the zone. Completely reconstruct everything and in the process create several other problems that weren't there before you noticed the streaking, keep tweaking until you're so frustrated you put the bow down. Go back in 2-3 weeks and you'll discover all your problems fixed themselves. We've all been to that place where we couldn't leave well-enough alone. 18.) hoyt_em - 03/11/2013
I am the king of tinker, and lord of can't leave it alone...I was almost all I could do to not mess with it there.

Oh good, then you and I can team up against the "leave it alone" crowd next time they have an uprising!:hb: 20.) hoyt_em - 03/11/2013
Lol...
My wife has two statements when the press comes out: You ain't touching my stuff!! What the heck are you messing with now??? The inflection of her voice is clearly referring to my sanity, and how little is left. 21.) DParker - 03/11/2013

Clearance issue seems to be cleaned up...a couple rest clicks, chased by the scope...all of 10
Minutes. 10 minutes I should have invested Friday night. 25.) Triton Rich - 03/12/2013
