I'm glad you read what's going on, but unless you comment no one knows that. What would you change? Maybe we can all work to make it happen. I'm sad you and others don't post more. Even if it's just a funny comment, it just makes everyone feel better.

So why don't you start a thread relating to equipment or hunting? I would also add the times sitting around the fire at hunting camp are as important as the hunt.

I still haven't determined if our lurkers are new people or old guys who just don't want to participate any more, for whatever reason. Although I resisted the notion for a long time, I think we lost more of the old guys permanently than I had imagined. It's probably past time we just let it go and get okay with talking to ourselves, LOL.

I understand your point. I'm not convinced people stop reading the posts because crookedeye has a little fun. I enjoy reading his posts even in the middle of gear talks and what-not. Maybe I'm a little warped but I appreciate his humor just like I appreciate yours. I think that separates us from AT and some of those sites where it's just stuffed shirts talking about how much they know.

I've looked at some other sites over the last few months and it's not much different in other parts of the globe.
And then there's the fact that a lot of the hunting topics on more active sites make my eyes roll up in the back of my head, so I don't think we're doing so badly around here in some ways, LOL.

A snapshot in time. Just a week ago, I put some information out there on carrying your bow to stand. Swampy constantly is relaying information on stands, harnesses, etc.
I completely changed my harness system based on his information. The information is there, it's just whether people are interested in learning new things.

Just an observation about my own habits: Sometimes I'll think of a topic and then talk myself out of posting it because I know it won't get any replies even from guys who might not know/care much about the topic but who I wouldn't mind hearing from.
I'm probably not going to post "How do you carry your backpack in with your climber?" as you see often elsewhere (and apparently that topic gets a lot of traffic from 20-somethings on the most active sites) not that I don't like new ideas but because "Can't you figure that out for yourself?" LOL
On the other hand, "What is your dream rifle?" or "Here's what happened to me in the woods today" isn't worth the effort vs. the response I anticipate.
I could post a whole lot more hunting/outdoor gibberish than I do, but I talk myself out of most of it.
Similar to what Luv2 said about his mock scrape project. I'd like to hear about it, but I can see why one might not want to type up a report or pose a thoughtful question just for the few goobers around here.

Most of us have worked out all the kinks in our archery equipment and hunting styles.
We've known each other for what :cf: 10 years or better.On 3 different forms. So we're socializing a lot.
I'd love to visit all the homies. do a hunt or a fishing adventure.
And just like the outdoor TV shows and magazines how many times do ya go over the same topics. ( gets boring pretty fast )
That must be why advertising and product endorsement is flooding the magazines and shows.
Many of us used to go to sport shows for all the good deals that were to be had.-----now it's not worth the parking fee to go.
If anyone wants an archery question answered or a tip on shooting or anything really, all they have to do is ask.
