1.) DParker - 08/06/2014
If you've been wanting to add a proven electronic scale/powder dispenser to your reloading bench but have been holding off because of the cost now would be a good time to make a move. Not only is RCBS offering a $50 manufacturer's mail-in rebate on their reloading gear for all of 2014, Cabela's currently has them in stock and on sale for $329.99, for an after-rebate price of $279.99. Even with a sales tax of 8.25% (I'm using my local rate for an example) that comes to an out-the-door cost of $303.09. Even as good a deal as that is...if you're willing to wait a few days, or just don't have a Cabela's in the neighborhood, Natchez Shooters Supplies is currently offering them for only $289.99! Using my own location as an example again the quoted standard ground shipping costs from Natchez were $17.77, for a cost of only $307.76 before rebate. The only problem is that there are two rebates being offered by RCBS: $50 back for purchases of $300.00 or more, or $10 for purchase of $50.00-$299.99, so to get the $50 rebate you'd need to add some small additional RCBS item to your purchase...which shouldn't be a problem for most any reloader. And even if you settled for the $10 rebate that still gets you the CM Combo shipped to you from Natchez for a final cost of only $297.76. That's dirt cheap for the the CM Combo.

With this ammo shortage, I'm to the point I'd be willing to pay somebody to reload some stuff for me...:bang:
What a freakin' nightmare. 3.) DParker - 08/06/2014

What a freakin' nightmare.
10 months ago you were to the point of being ready to start doing your own reloading... I got busy, LOL...
Ten months ago the rut was about to crank up... 5.) Forkie McRut - 08/07/2014
I bought one of these almost 2 years ago based on DParker's glowing recommendation.
Bottom line: best addition to the reloading bench, bar none. 6.) DParker - 08/07/2014
I bought one of these almost 2 years ago based on DParker's glowing recommendation.

And I hope that satisfaction repeats itself. I found out about this deal because my boss told me about it when he walked into my office yesterday to tell me that he's finally decided to buy one, also based on my recommendation. So this could be good...or bad. :-) 7.) Forkie McRut - 08/07/2014
With today's powder shortages, it's nice to be able to get whatever type of powder you can find rather than worrying about one that will flow well through a powder measure.
8.) Wild Bob - 08/07/2014
Thanks for the heads up on the good deal... I'm sure that it is an awesome unit but, I think I'll stick with my old 505 Scale. It's accurate, works great, doesn't cost me anything, and operates at just about my speed. (But I don't bulk load anyway, so speed is not a concern for me.)
Unfortunately, there are just too many things to buy. As Forkie commented; spending more money buying powder and bullets is at the top of my priority list. (Along with a new shot gun for Johhny, and a rifle for Susie, and new bow for tiny Tim, and a new boat for me...and the list goes on!) 9.) Swamp Fox - 08/07/2014
Put me down for a custom hunting knife, Wild Bob!
No pressure, but it would be nice to get it for 2015... :-) 10.) DParker - 08/07/2014

You can find powder to spend money on? :wink 11.) Wild Bob - 08/07/2014
Shhhhh! (Yea, over in South Dakota...don't tell everyone!) :-)
Not steadily or reliably, but when I travel anywhere; I keep my eyes open and I've got my usual stops at a number of different shops and I find enough to stay in business and continue to build a modest stock pile. Isn't that what everyone else is doing too? 12.) bluecat - 08/07/2014
I'm saving up for the gold cases.

Isn't that what everyone else is doing too?
Nope. Local places have almost nothing, and even the large online vendors seem to be in a perpetual wiped-out state. Grafs and MidwayUSA each carry over 300 smokeless powders (if you count the same powders in different canister sizes), but Grafs currently has only 7 of the more obscure ones in stock, and MidwayUSA has a grand total of 2 smokeless powder varieties available....none of which I use. 14.) Midsouthshooterssupply.com gets shipments in fairly frequently, but they sell out quick. Certain ones they will allow you to backorder. That being said, I'm still waiting on 8lbs of Winchester 231 on backorder since October of last year. :bang:
Powdervalley.net gets stuff in weekly, but they sell out even faster. |
