1.) luv2bowhunt - 08/04/2014
Hate to start a thread with a hunting related theme....but..........latest scouting pics have arrived.
Should I go for the biggest or weirdest? ">">"> 2.) Bob Peck - 08/04/2014
Oh Lord! A hunting related thread?! Say it isn't so! Hallelujah, it must be getting close to hunting season. One question: What's going on with the stump? Salt lick? Mineral site?
3.) luv2bowhunt - 08/04/2014
Poured Buck Jam apple flavor on the stump, N'raged Greens on the ground, also apple and Acorn rage blocks thrown in for good measure.
4.) Ventilator - 08/04/2014
I did manage to get 3 cameras out on my new SC property Saturday morning. 3200 acres and I have been scouting 3 times so far. Not nearly as much time as needed but its a 2 hour drive down there. I did find 2 hot spot creek crossings from a bedding area leading thru an oak stand on the way to soybean fields. Should be a nice Sept early Oct spot.
Good luck this year luvvy. You are due. Those mountains aren't getting any smaller. :tu: 5.) luv2bowhunt - 08/04/2014

If only I had a hunting pro, like the Drurys, to show me how to get it done. Alas, I will keep floundering in my own sea of failures I guess. 6.) Hunter - 08/04/2014
Nice pics, Luv. Think either of those bucks were on your pics from last year?

Since the Drurys jumped ship from Scentblocker to UA, I don't think they will kill much this year. Its your year to shine! 8.) luv2bowhunt - 08/04/2014
No chance of that, didn't have a camera in here last year. For some stupid reason I left this area for most of last season and tried a long shot area. Came back here during the rut and it looked promising, then I blew my ACL and had to give it up.

I thought we all agreed not to complain about the lack of hunting content until more people started posting hunting content...
The thirteen guys keeping all the machines running around here are working as fast as they can. Somebody's gonna lose an arm in a tragic water wheel accident eventually if we don't give them a break. Nice bucks, Luv2! 11.) CHRIS - 08/04/2014
good looking PA bucks LUV2.

16.) Wild Bob - 08/04/2014
Nice bucks! Go for both Amigo!!:tu::-)
17.) billy b - 08/04/2014
I hope they are still there after velvet goes, but it's my experience that they likely will not be. Good luck Luvey.

I put my cameras up 9 or 10 ft for 2 reasons. First and foremost I like to keep them out of human eye level. Afterall, I'm using these on public land. My Bushnells are really tough to spot the way I put them, odds are you'd walk by and never notice them. Actually had someone do that last year. I also like to keep them out of the line of sight for the deer. I don't get any 'hey what is that thing' alert and caution shots. I used to occasionally get pics of a buck looking wide eyed in the camera and then not see him again. I just carry in 3 screw in steps with me to hang and later check the camera. Also helps to use one of these. 19.) luv2bowhunt - 08/04/2014

Mine too. I don't expect to see any of these deer in the Fall. Been hunting this State Forest long enough to know how elusive the older ones are. If I got in that contest though, I'd kick your butt.:tu::re: 20.) Swamp Fox - 08/04/2014
I'd call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man!
21.) billy b - 08/04/2014
You wouldn't pick on a cripple would you? If you do (enter) I'll kick your tuckus:grin:
LUV2 who makes that mounting bracket?
http://www.murphymetalart.com/PTM.html You're lucky you're so far east. Otherwise I wouldn't do anything to help you compete against me.:wink 25.) Swamp Fox - 08/04/2014
I could use something that can be used on a tree but can be adapted to a post on occasion. Any ideas?
I know they're out there, but I haven't bothered to research which are the most useful/versatile ones. 26.) Hunter - 08/04/2014

Any way to mount that on a stake?...Let's say there are no posts or all the trees are small saplings?
28.) Swamp Fox - 08/04/2014
That's what I meant to say...If I have a post where I want, I'm okay, but I'd like to be able to plant a stake exactly where I need it every once in a while.
I know I've seen a few things out there. 29.) Swamp Fox - 08/04/2014
Something like this...

CAN'TCHYA TIE SOME SAPLINGS TOGETHER AND MAKE THEM STRONGER? BRING A HAMMER?/rock tri pod sticks or ? 32.) Swamp Fox - 08/04/2014
Usually this is in places like field edges or cutovers where there is just brush or vines like kudzu, honeysuckle, wild grapes, blackberries. If there are suitable trees around, they're in the wrong spot.
I'd put the camera on a sharpened wooden stake or a piece of rebar. 33.) Hunter - 08/04/2014
I pound t-post into ground where needed and attach the mount
34.) Deerminator - 08/04/2014
I saw big foot reaserch expert, Bo bo, put the cameras on the ground
35.) Swamp Fox - 08/04/2014
That seems easier, LOL....
36.) CHRIS - 08/05/2014
thanks for the link. ill have to invest in a few.
