1.) TRAVELER - 03/07/2013
Should Chili have beans?
2.) DParker - 03/07/2013
It's a little early for a religious debate, isn't it?
3.) Ohbuckhunter - 03/07/2013
Beans. Duh.
4.) hoyt_em - 03/07/2013
Not if your right...beans in.

Otherwise it is will become a poor excuse for a hot spaghetti sauce

If you can put beans in spaghetti sauce and fool yourself into thinking that you've now got chili then you can't be helped.

CHILI WITHOUT BEAN IS MEAT SOUP
8.) DParker - 03/07/2013
Lol...Dbackwards
Basic logic:

If A - B = C then C + B = A.

Now let...
A = Chili
B = Beans
C = Spaghetti Sauce
...and this becomes pretty easy to figure out.
9.) BULLZ-i - 03/07/2013
THATS A CLASSIC MRE RIGHT THERE
10.) DParker - 03/07/2013
Again, for the education of the local heathens....

This is chili:

I don't know what this is:

11.) hoyt_em - 03/07/2013
Lmao...the second meal is yummy, that first one, appears to look like warned up ocello sponges, with a plate of 3 day old road kill, basted in motor oil, in an unwashed garage sale pot.
Lmao...the second meal is yummy
Bland, watery bean soup. Check.
, that first one, appears to look like warned up ocello sponges, with a plate of 3 day old road kill, basted in motor oil, in an unwashed garage sale pot.
That's called "beef" (a meat enjoyed by most humans possessing a 'Y' chromosome), and the sauce is composed of stock (again, a meat-based item) and spices, including hot chile peppers (also enjoyed by the aforementioned 'Y' chromosome possessors.)

Gentlemen, post your wenches...
OK, I think I see where the disconnect is now. You're trying to help, operating under the assumption that the goal is to "solve" something (understandable, I made the same mistake for the first year of my marriage whenever my wife wanted to talk about some problem she'd encountered), while I'm just in it for the opportunity to bicker and proscelytize. :p

But I'm still good with the whole waitressing wenches idea.

2 kinds of Chili -

A) Traditional Texas Red (no beans)

B) Everything else (beans, corn, veggies...whatever else you want to add and still call it "chili").

each have their own following

side note, however: the international chili association does NOT recognize beans as an ingredient in chili for their competitions, i.e. Terlingua

38.) Floyd - 03/11/2013
Texas Red Chili, Beans, Rice, Jalapeņo, Cornbread.

The chili meat is beef and the venison from the hunt in south Texas. Beans are Pinto beans, seasoned, with salt pork.

Yes, mixing it up on the plate is okay. Add a little hot sauce or picante of your choice. I also like to pour the chili over the cornbread; mmm, mmm, good. I also like to take a bowl put the cornbread in it and pour beans and the bean soup in it; heaven.

39.) DParker - 03/11/2013
Excellent. I'll be looking for the recipe in our new "After the Hunt" forum.
40.) Floyd - 03/11/2013
Scout made the rice. It's always perfect. I think the grubbiness of her hands is the secret.

Melody made the Chili and the cornbread

I made the beans

Forget that. Give me the Costco-approved 64 oz Brawndo thirst demolisher (it's got what plants crave). Mayor "Soda Nazi" Bloomberg's big-ass soda ban goes down in legal flames:

49.) Floyd - 03/12/2013
Oh PasterBob, you're not a dead horse to beat. Old dogs can learn new tricks. Not that you're old dog or a dead horse mind you. Just saying.

Anyways, I sure would like an update about your little part of God's Country in your part of the woods. Still doing your Archery Shoots?

Well, I suppose you could use horse meat in your chili. They seem to have been eating a lot of it in Europe lately without being able to tell the difference.
51.) Swamp Fox - 03/12/2013

Here here Jon, although I've lost about 45 lbs of the fat guy, a good bowl of chili is hard to beat. Beans or no, I like em all. My chili happens to generally include beans, both black and kidney and even the pre spiced chili beans when I can locate them. But all of them must have spice, bring on the heat. No heat, no good in my book :-)

Traveler, you own boat that goes to sea, do you winch on your crank or crank on your winch? And is that before or after you take your Ritalin.

Leighton, you learned a very important lesson. Adobe Dave shouldn't be trusted with serving ANY food, be it traditional mexican, fake mexican OR any southwestern delicacy. He's stuck in a land between any real historical importance food wise. I mean, he could probably grill up a delightful lizard or maybe twice baked buzzard, beside that, leave the food to the Texans. Sorry your wife had to have the purge reaction, a non US citizen should have been warned really.

79.) Floyd - 03/29/2013
You got that right DParker.

Envision this: toxophilite post was like he had just finished gutting his deer, we are standing around and in one smooth motion nonchalantly takes off his left gutting glove and slaps the beaners face saying, "beans are just filler for the guys that didn't shoot any venison this year." SLAP!!!! Ouch, man that smarted.

Very cool.

A trade for Banana bread.:co:
83.) DParker - 03/31/2013
Shoot...I'd trade some venison for banana bread (if it has walnuts or pecans in it). There's nothing like warm banana bread with a little butter on it.
84.) Deerminator - 03/31/2013
It's not easy cause of all the moisture but if ya can get it toasted..................OH MAN THAT"S GOOOD
85.) DParker - 03/31/2013
Hmmmmmm....gonna' have to try that. Would be tough at home with just a regular toaster (the bread would likely fall apart inside of it), but we have a toaster oven at the office. I'll bet that would work.
86.) toxophilite - 03/31/2013
the banana bread is great, deerminators better half has a killer recipe, but no nuts, you know just like no beans:laugh:
