The summer doldrums…Epic Hunting Fail thread

To be a copy-cat off of another forum; but inject our own slant to the idea: let’s have an epic fail thread where we post anything hunting related that resulted in a ‘FAIL.’

A few words of caution though:

1)\tFails can be direct or indirect experiences, stories, pictures, videos or what ever, but must be hunting related (no failed wardrobe
issues :re: unless they're wearing camo :wink.

2)\tIf a Fail is a first hand experience – IT MUST BE POSTED BY THE HC MEMBER THAT EXPERIENCED / CAUSED IT (I.E. NO
TAKING ADVANTAGE OF OTHER MEMBERS MISHAPS UNLESS THAT MEMBER POSTS IT AS FAIR GAME ON THEIR OWN!)

3)\tIf you post something, and it starts a fight with another member…that’s not cool, just drop it. The intent here is to have a little fun, not
start shit.

What if you have a firsthand experience that's indirect? I mean, there are a lot of "And that's when Floyd saw the bear"-type stories out there, :wink LOL....

Also, some tales that start to wind down with "So Swampy took careful aim..."

Here's an epic fail in my opinion:

Even though mother nature provides you with -20 below temps and you don't need to worry about the deer you got last weekend spoiling; if you live in the middle of town, this might not be the best way to store your deer (picture taken by me from the street!)

I once shot at a hog using the gap in the string above my peep sight...I don't really know how, but it was at night, pitch black...That's my excuse, anyway...Even at 15 yards, the results were "Pig wins!"...

Or "and the pig ran off!"...whichever you prefer, LOL


I put a kisser button on that bow for future night hunts after that...:tap:

We don't even have epic bean, no beans in the chili threads.

Only the finest of fine hunters do we have on this site. Yes, even you Wild Bob.

So no, no epic hunting fails..............humorous anecdotal stories and other for sure. But, not epic.

I have several gray foxes that visit outside my window just about every afternoon around the same time...They like Friskies, and I got on their milk run about a year ago. Very bold originally and not scared. I had one bed down twenty yards from the door one day.

I shoo them away for their own good; they're more cautious now. I'm trying to get some pics and video. Should have done it before I started shooing them. They'd let me get incredibly close. Not so much these days.

I'd like to see some reds again, but I think their numbers have taken a nosedive around here since the grays moved in.
