And this is what It looks like up there right now! I`m damn glad we decided to wait until the 18th to go this year. Last two years we hunted the 2nd week of May. Mother nature would've kicked us in the nutz this year if we hadn't waited.

Bears should be starving when the weather breaks. 60`s in forecast all next week.

Pushing 3 feet off the road. This road in the pic was clear of snow on Friday. Every other day of snow for the last couple weeks they said.

BUT, I bet it will feel like Antarctica after I leave 85 degrees end of next week! lol

Off to Sask this weekend. weather in the 70s and snow is melting. lots of bears showing up on camera the last two days. Looking decent with the exception of rain in the forecast every single day im there starting Sunday. Oh well, at least I have a good rainsuit and it will still be in the 60s for the highs. Bears should still move im hoping.

Just got back. 4 of 6 of us got bears, all nice boars. I shot a big one Friday evening, but i didnt recover it. Had a steep downhill angle on a 10 yd shot. I had to shoot sitting down due to the type of stand i was in. I ended up having the bow too close to me at full draw. At the shot my cam hit my knee and jerked the bow downward causing me to hit about 8 inches below my aimpoint. Review of the shot on camera looked like a heart shot. However, after a 4 hour tracking job, the blood finally ran out. Appears the bear was not fatally wounded. Unfortunately a bad outcome for me.

Dan-O shot his first ever bear yesterday tho. His first day hunting. They arrived as i was leaving on Sunday.

We just got home today, Dan-o his Dad and I all were lucky enuff to get bears... I had a great time and can't wait to do it again :tu:. I can't explain how different it is to hunt Bear... i find it even more fun than deer hunting and can see how people get addicted to it. I had bear in front of me 5 out of 6 days and the day i didn't see a bear i was lucky enuff to have a great friend sitting with me in the tree so it was very enjoyable. I ended up taking my bear the final day an the recovery was "challenging" putting it mildly but it has givin me one of my favorite days of hunting of my life. If you haven't been Bear hunting and want to i encourage you to go it is a blast.
