Mama Ventilator:
"Ventilator, you come in this instant, you'll catch your death." 5.) Ventilator - 04/28/2014
Haha, funny you say that. 6 of us almost met our death when we when swimming over our heads with rucks on all tied to the rope. I went under 4-5 times and treadin water as hard as I could. My ruck wasn't waterproofed (contractor bag) and after it filled up it was a giant anchor on my back. Harrowing to say the least!
6.) Hunter - 04/28/2014
Congrats on your accomplishment! (But, it doesn't look like fun to me.)

Weirdest tug-of-war ever.
Weirdest tug-of-war ever.
I was wondering if that's what the onlookers in downtown charlotte were thinking as well. :-) 9.) DParker - 04/28/2014
And I hope those logs were able to recover from their injuries.
You think that's strenuous? Try carrying a 32 oz. beer around all day while your wife and daughter browse the craft tents at an outdoor festival. Your arm gets really tired. 10.) Deerminator - 04/28/2014
Way Cool:tu:

You're referring to my toting around a quart of beer all day, right? 12.) Ventilator - 04/28/2014

There was a music festival going on at Freedom Park (start/end point) in Charlotte. A whole lot of WTF`s when we jumped in the water that last time and then got out and started yelling and drinking!! 13.) DParker - 04/28/2014

It's lucky that you didn't have to employ any of that medicinal alcohol for first aid (which is why you carried it, no doubt) and were able to use it for celebratory purposes afterward. Waste not, want not. 14.) Deerminator - 04/28/2014

OF course I did:-) 15.) Ventilator - 04/29/2014

Now this, IS absolutely correct! :tu: 16.) Ventilator - 04/29/2014
This was Sunday`s fun. lol Knocked out a 1/2 bushel of raw oysters and a few beers on the back deck. Kids helped out as well. Root beer of course.

Where's the beer? Is it hidden underneath the Bud Light? :-)
18.) Ventilator - 04/29/2014
Well, we had PBR to celebrate finishing Saturday morning. That any better or should we go with Lone Star? lol
Well, we had PBR to celebrate finishing Saturday morning.
Pabst? What are you, some kinda' ironic hipster or something? :p
That any better or should we go with Lone Star? lol
No, Lone Star is piss water too. We just keep it around because tradition dictates that you prop up empty bottles of it (don't drink it, just poor it on the ground or use it to put out a small fire) next to armadillos you find dead on the side of the highway. Shiner Bock is OK though. 20.) bluecat - 04/29/2014
When I was growing up, I had a beer can collection. I would have my parents buy all different kinds of beer so they would drink them and I could have the can. Shiner Bock is the only beer I ever saw them pour down the drain.
21.) DParker - 04/29/2014
The sad fact is that most American beer consumers who grew up drinking Bud, Coors, Miller, etc...that is to say, most American beer consumers...have no idea what "beer" actually tastes like, so if/when they finally do encounter one it overwhelms their rice-water-conditioned palates. I was the same way until I was about 30 and moved to Oregon for a year, where I was introduced to microbrews. I didn't like them at first, for the same reason I just described. But once I learned to appreciate the flavors that real beer has to offer I was never able to drink standard mass-produced U.S. pilsners again.

I have to ask? Why?
And no, I'm not trying to be a smarty pants. I'd really like to know. On the surface it looks like an excellent marketing vehicle for GORUCK products and highly creative brand building but maybe there's more to it. https://www.goruck.com/en/Gear#.U2AY-ldnD_M 23.) Deerminator - 04/29/2014

https://www.goruck.com/en/Gear#.U2AY-ldnD_M
Hi Bob, Its for the camaraderie mostly. That's why most of us do it. Also, in my case, I wanted to push myself again to physical and mental limits that I haven't been pushed to since my time in the AF. Sometimes I think people get to a point in their lives that they just want to see if they can still function under those conditions. Ive sat around for years and years not doing much of anything besides work and hunting. (not that there is anything wrong with that). Doing this challenge gave me the confidence again that I can do anything I put my mind to again. I have two teenage children I also wanted to set an example for also. They have heard my stories of the past but this was a chance to see a little bit of what it takes to work together as a team and accomplish a goal without failure no matter what it takes. Its definitely not for everyone, and I wouldn't push on anyone either. But , in my case , it was a great reason to get in better shape too. :) thanks for asking buddy. :tu: 26.) Ohbuckhunter - 04/30/2014
I'd like to do this event if I could bring my side by side and drive the whole way. I wanna keep my figure as well
27.) Ventilator - 04/30/2014
Well Dave, im sure the Cadre would love to ride with you and dish out punishment along the way!! Youd be a hit!! And you could haul the beer cooler! (and shine)

Shiner Bock is OK though.
I haven't had a PBR in years , until Saturday. My favorite beer that morning was.....FREE BEER! Even piss water was great then. During my days at Lackland AFB, we had the displeasure of Lone Star free beer on the weekends. Since we weren't old enough to drink off base, we didn't have much choice. As hot as it gets in San Antonio in july, we were glad to drink piss water as well. PBR isnt bad tho, especially if you re an iconic hipster. :hb: 29.) Deerminator - 04/30/2014

Looks like a kick. I like the cooler full of oysters a little better than the pack full of bricks, but maybe that's just me, LOL Shiner Bock isn't the worst you can do. They make some better ones, though. I used to be able to get one they called Prickly Pear up here, but I can't find it any more. It used to come in a variety pack but now they include a different variety. I'm tempted to see if I can special-order it somewhere. 35.) NEBigAl - 04/30/2014
